JOB TITLE:  Yearbook  Advisor 

Responsibilities: 

  1. Coordinate the overall development and production of the elementary school yearbook. 
  2. Work with the designated yearbook publishing company and serve as the primary school contact. 
  3. Establish and maintain a production timeline to ensure all deadlines are met. 
  4. Recruit, organize, and supervise students assisting with the yearbook. 
  5. Provide students with instruction and guidance in areas such as photography, writing, interviewing, page design, captions, and proofreading. 
  6. Coordinate the collection and organization of photographs throughout the school year. 
  7. Take or coordinate photographs of students, staff, classrooms, activities, clubs, special events, and other school-related activities. 
  8. Ensure photographs and other yearbook content are appropriate and accurately represent the school. 
  9. Coordinate the collection of student and staff names, class information, group photographs, and other necessary information. 
  10. Review all yearbook pages, photographs, captions, names, and other content for accuracy, appropriateness, and quality prior to submission. 
  11. Maintain communication with teachers and school staff regarding photographs, classroom pages, and special events. 
  12. Coordinate the selection and inclusion of school activities, programs, and special events in the yearbook. 
  13. Assist with the development of the yearbook cover, theme, page layouts, and other design elements. 
  14. Monitor and communicate yearbook sales and ordering information to students, parents/guardians, and staff as directed by the school. 
  15. Coordinate the distribution of completed yearbooks. 
  16. Maintain appropriate records related to yearbook orders, deadlines, and production. 
  17. Follow all school and county policies and procedures, including requirements related to student privacy, photography, technology use, and appropriate student supervision. 
  18. Protect the confidentiality of student information and use student photographs and information only for authorized school purposes. 
  19. Maintain appropriate communication with parents/guardians, students, staff, and the yearbook company. 
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.
